- Wednesday Course: Introduction to Laboratory Automation -Management Version, $625 per person
Laboratory computing is essential to the operation of R&D and quality control labs. Both technology and economic demands are pushing labs to incorporate automation and informatics into the labs. If your lab is being faced with demands for increased productivity, lab automation can be an effective means of meeting that requirement. However the key to successful implementation is understanding what is possible, what the technologies are, their limitations and how to apply them.
Laboratory computing is essential to the operation of R&D and quality control labs. While some aspects (office applications) are similar to other groups in the company, labs have unique computing and regulatory requirements that may not be covered by traditional IT policies. An understanding of laboratory requirements will help both IT and lab groups develop policies for support, product selection, and the integration of the lab into the general corporate computing environment. This course can be used to gain more depth in lab operations and lab instrumentation, enabling IT personnel to better understand lab work and the needs of the users for computing and automation.
