Reference Material
We are looking for articles / material on applications technologies, and services, including "how to buy / evaluate/ etc...." content. If you are interested in providing material, send it to us at ilainfo@institutelabauto.org . All material that is published will include the authors name and contact information. We are looking for material that is "vendor neutral".

The purpose of this site....
....is to provide a place where:
- users can learn about product technologies and begin their search for vendor offerings, and
- vendors can introduce their products / services with links to more information if the viewer is interested.
- those interested can have us link to discussion of products or articles. If you are interested in starting a discussion:
- go to our group on LINKEDIN and start a discussion (you will need at least a free LINKEDIN account and join the ILA discussion group)
- when you've posted a discussion, send us an email (address: ILAinfo@InstituteLabAuto.org ) with the title or URL.
- we'll create a "discussion" link next to the item so others will know it is there and follow it.
- note: eventually, given funding (see below, left) we will replace LINKEDIN with a more robust systems.
It is intended to be a persistent and developing framework...
... for a list of lab automation & computing products, and services. The reason this is referred to as a "framework" is that we expect the layout and design to change over time as a result of vendor and viewer requests. It will reflect the way you view the use of products, technologies and services. Start simple, and grow/ evolve as the community sees things develop. The income from the site (advertising and donations) will be used to support the site and develop additional programs.
Vendors can list their offerings, those looking for products can get an idea of what is available and where to get more information. All products will be listed in the same format, so regardless of the size of your company, you get equal space and presentation.
There are a few points to be aware of:
- This site doesn't present itself as a comprehensive product listing - the items listed are up to vendors who choose to submit material,
- The fact that products are or are not listed does not imply an endorsement or lack thereof. Listings are at the vendor's discretion, this listing site maintains a strict neutral position on product recommendations, quality, etc.
- Products are listed in the order we received completed requests. The listing pages do provide an alphabetical listing of vendors on that page.
- This isn't a shopping site, you won't be able to place orders. Rather this is the place to go to find out what products are available, what technologies are being used, and where to go to learn more. This is where you start the product selection process.
If you have suggestions for product categories that do not appear in the links above, let us know (see email link below)… this system will evolve to suite your needs - the current set of headers and sub-menus is just the starting point . It will be interesting to see that process work. Initially all LIMS products will be listed together; however if vendors request it, we may segregate them by technology offerings, SaaS vs on-site installations for example.
If you are a product/service vendor and would like to see your offerings listed, click on the links heading and then the "Listing Process" link. It will explain what we hope is a simple, painless process. Suggestions for improvements are welcome.

This is the space used for product descriptions. There is room for 1200 characters, including spaces, but the point is just to give you an idea of what 1200 characters looks like. The submission form text entry field has a counter that counts characters entered and cuts off when the magic number of 1200 is reached. Twelve hundred is an interesting number, and as I'm typing this I began to get the feeling that 600 would have been a better choice (451 characters to the end of choice). This is getting a bit dull but I still have more than half the count to go.
According to infoplease.com, the years 1200-1204 covered the fourth crusade... by the time I finish typing 1200 characters, I may go on one of my own... The same source said that Genghis Khan invades China, captures Peking (1214), conquers Persia (1218), invades Russia (1223), dies (1227). Not only do we cover lab automation, but history. How do you feel about 900 characters? In 1241, Mongols defeat Germans in Silesia, invade Poland and Hungary, withdraw from Europe after Ughetai, Mongol leader, dies. We'll miss him.
You can probably say a lot in 1200 characters, more than I expected, and we are running out of spac
