 A Spring 2009 issue of the Journal of the Association for Laboratory Automation (JALA) will carry an article co-authored by Neil Benn (Ziath Inc., email: neil.benn@ziath.com) and Joe Liscouski (Institute for Laboratory Automation, email: j.liscouski@InstituteLabAuto.org), titled "Discussion of Open Source Methodologies in Laboratory Automation". The purpose of the article is to begin a discussion of the role Open Source products and product add-ons can play in lab work. The Open Source movement has been beneficial in web work (Apache, Wordpress) and office application (Open Office) and other application areas; it could prove be beneficial to scientific applications.

The intent of this diectory is to provide directory of open source programs that might be of interest to those in lab automation and computing. If you are aware of project that should be included, please email information to: ILAinfo@InstituteLabAuto.org The inclusion of material on this page is for informational purposes and does constitute an endorsement or recommendation.
